The Cabin
Welcome to our rustic & romantic Colorado cabin rental, nestled among the aspens and atop the tundra in beautiful South Park. At 9501 feet elevation, the valley offers expansive views with 12, 13 and 14,000 foot peaks in every direction.
Our little house on the prairie, boasts 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths and comes stocked with everything you'll need for a cozy mountain getaway! Need to unplug and bask in nature for a while? There are breathtaking hikes, lake views, and wildlife that surround you from the moment you step outside and just a short drive from the Hills. Plan to do a little work while you're up here? We have 2 desks (with extra monitors set up) & WiFi so you can log in to check emails and video-conferencing calls with ease.
In the evenings, curl up by the wood fireplace for movie night; we have several TV's, board games, etc. for entertainment if your preference isn't to take a blanket out to the front yard and count endless stars and name the constellations. For your comfort, the cabin also offers forced air heating, space heaters, and a humidifier during your stay. 4WD required Oct-Apr.

Wood Stove
Curl up on the couch with your wine or hot cocoa and listen to the wood fire crackle and pop. We provide the wood, mother nature provides the ambiance... bring your own wine!
Full Kitchen
Fully loaded kitchen with the pots, pans, utensils needed for a family feast... even a crock pot and milk shake mixer, if you want to go all out.
Two Bedrooms
South Park Cabin boasts two spacious bedrooms. The master is downstairs with a King Size log bed and is adjacent to the full bathroom. Upstairs in the loft is a Queen log bed with an en-suite half bath.
WiFi
The cabin comes equipped with broadband. It is not 'lightning fast' but is stable and works for streaming Netflix or for your Zoom meeting that you just can't escape.
Essentials
We stock the cabin with the essentials - linens, soaps, shampoo and conditioner - and have a few other helpful tools such as a blow dryer, space heater, humidifier, and first aid kits.
Two Offices
Work from anywhere... literally. We have two desks with 22" monitors, one downstairs and another upstairs.. just bring your laptop, mouse and keyboard... or don't.
Our Story
Our dream of owning a mountain cabin in Colorado from our first visit there together in Fall of 2019, finally came to fruition—almost two years later in October 2021. After multiple road trips out to this beautiful part of the country from our home in Atlanta, GA and visiting up and down the Rockies, we finally made the leap by purchasing South Park Cabin. Nestled in the quiet & charming Michigan Hill neighborhood of Jefferson, we were completely enamored by the pastoral landscape, abundant wildlife, and serenity we found in bucolic South Park Valley.
Our first visit to Michigan Hill included a monthlong stay in August, when we stumbled across our cabin during an open house that was hosted down the street. An offer was made prior to our departure, and it was easily one of the best decisions we have ever made.
The mission and goal of our South Park Cabin rental is to provide a cozy stay, so guests may grow a similar sense of calm and wonder during their visit to Jefferson. The cabin offers most modern day amenities, including WIFI, so you have the option of staying connected…but oftentimes, the day is best spent with a cup of coffee in the morning watching the sun rise over the range or taking in the full expanse of the milky way on a cool summer night.
While guests at South Park Cabin can find themselves enjoying slow evenings nestled by the wood burning stove and warming up next to the fire, there are also a myriad of activities to partake in within a few minutes drive.
